Fun facts for you about Leland Blue. It's actually an antique foundry glass and not a gemstone. It is a byproduct of the days of smelting iron ore in NW Michigan in the late 1800's. A high-grade charcoal made only from beech and maple woods combined with limestone flux reduced the iron ore to pig iron, thus creating this unique glass. The operation of smelting ceased by 1900, due to a lack of hardwood. It's quite beautiful and each piece is unique. I had to create a setting that was truly one of a kind for it!
